Thanks for all your views. Am glad you are so active electorally. One pice of advice though.
Its very easy to fall into the trap of A vs B Party. But please do not fall into 'party' politics.

As I said in the post, 'choose the MP'. If one chooses a wrong MP even if he is in the right party (which can be anyone of you choice), the quality & party ideology will surely suffer(albeit at a small rate).

And gradually the quality suffers & hence the party.This has happened in the past. I would say not to look at the peak of the tower if its foundation is weak.

Avoid falling into the trap of looking at the candidate with the coloured glasses of caste, religion or party ideology. Look at the man, his past & his views.

Just to be clear, these are simply my views. I am not supporting any Independent nor am I contesting:)

I completely agree with your second tip. The duty of a MP isnt to pave roads or get 24 hour water supply. We have corporators and MLAs to take care of it. The duty of a Mp is to make way for policies by which implementation of those services comes through.
Though I would say, while it is necessary to look into the MPs profile, you need to choose a party too as essentially these policies are dependent on ideologies of these parties.
And just to clarify, i support the BJP.

Its a good sign that politicians are increasingly online. At least then, both the middle-class netizens & netas meet virtually if not physically.
Having said that, if you look at the manifesto in both the national parties, the points are the same.
Its another point that the manifesto hardly matters while moneyfesto talks.
