Name:  Poornima Dasharathi (Da as in ‘the’ – sha – ra – thi as in ‘think’) – uff – PD for short.

What I do: I am a traveller and a journalist, specializing in topics such as travel, heritage, science, leisure and lifestyle – anything that catches my eye! My work ranges from features and travelogues to city guides, interviews, and recently, pod casts.

More:

I have travelled to many places – from the freezing land of Scots to the blazing heat of San Diego – as a computer programmer, for nearly a decade. When I realised that I had many travel tales in the bag , I started this blog  and out flowed the stories. Later I jumped into writing full time  and left my previous cushy job altogether. This blog reflects my experiences, interesting conversations, different  cultures and customs that I enjoy during those journeys on the road (or by rail or air).

I love travelling to different places which can be the usual touristy-lonely planet-in-hand routes or trekking in the wilds. I also shamelessly declare that I love an occasional break at the Hilton or closer home, at the Taj or the Oberoi; that is whenever I can fund the trip. When I’m at home, which is in Bangalore, I love shooting(with camera), reading books, surfing the latest gadgets (hey I’m an ex-geek) and playing with my two-year old.
